Section: (1) Name of Organization: Eritrean Youth Organization in Edmonton (EYOED).
Section: (2) Objectives: -
Article 2.1 Maintain youth rights i.e. whenever they are wronged, ensuring that they receive the right treatment, representing on their behalf, standing up for them, and providing assistance.
Article 2.2 Encourage educations at its highest degree as well as career and employment opportunities.
Article 2.3 Establish clubs, sports, cultural and entertainment center to promote a sense of community and civic responsibility.
Article 2.4 Provide information on opportunities in Eritrea i.e. business/investment, student exchange, teaching, employment.
Article 2.5 Coordinate social events that will bring together youth in a fun environment.
Article 2.6 Establish good relationships with all national and international Eritrean youth organizations and engage in collaborative efforts.
Article 2.7 Participate and support Eritrean cultural, educational, and social events/activities that are held in the Edmonton Area.
Article 2.8 Hold workshops that will help develop or increase awareness in our youth i.e. leadership skills, women’s health, aids, resume….
Article 2.9 Bridge the gap between the younger and the older generation and help to resolve conflicts that arise between parents and children and enhance family values of Eritrea’s.
Article 2.10 Help fundraise for the rebuilding and development of Eritrea.
Article 2.11 Build a flexible organization that promotes creativity and reconciles old traditions with modern values.
Section (3) Membership of EYOED
Any person considered Eritrean under the Eritrea constitution and who is considered youth under the Canadian federal provisions may apply for membership. As a member, he/she is expected to attend all conferences meetings and pay fees or charges dictated under the Bylaw.
Section (4) Non-Profit
EYOED is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Eritrean identity among the youth and work to enforce education, and other areas of youth advancement.

Article 6.1 Chairman

Article 6.9 Women’s Affairs Director

Article 6.11 Assistants

Will work closely with their department head to ensure that work is handled effectively.

In the absence of the department head the senior assistant will assume the position of department director.
Article 6.12 All board members, head of departments and their assistants will have voting privileges.
Section (7) Annual General Meeting and Elections
Article (7.1) Elections shall take place at the Annual General Meeting, which shall be held each year sometime between September and December.
Article (7.2) All members of the organization will be eligible to vote.
Article (7.3) Election shall be held by secret ballot.
Article (7.4) The incumbent chairman will open the floor at the annual general meeting.
Article (7.5) The candidates seeking board positions will need to be nominated & seconded.
Article (7.6) Candidates must also have at least 6 months of membership and have attended at least 75% of the required meetings for regular members.
Article (7.7) If only one candidate is nominated for a board position, the vacancy will be won by default.

Article (7.8) Elections will take place only if quorums, which will be set at 60% of active EYOED members, take part in the election process.
Article (7.9) If members are unable to attend the Election they will have the opportunity to cast their vote through proxy, which will be provided by the electoral committee.
Section (8) Resignation
Article 8.1 If a resignation shall occur during the year, a general meeting shall be called within one month to fill that

Section (9) Removal: -
Article 9.1 Any member of the Board may be removed from office for failing to carry out duties specified in the constitution, failing to attend three (3) consecutive regular meetings, unless he/she has been excused by the executive and for immoral conduct.
Article 9.2 Removal from office requires a 75% vote at a general meeting. Written notice of the motion to remove a member of the executive from office shall be given at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting. The vote shall be by secret ballot.
Article 9.3 The incumbent chairman shall appoint an interim board member to fill the position.
Article 9.4 The senior assistant to the department shall be the appropriate choice for the appointment.
Section (10) Amending the Constitution
Article 10.1 Any member of EYOED may advocate the amendment to the constitution and submit the proposal to the secretary.
Article 10.2 the constitution may be amended by a two-third majority at any general meeting of the organization.
Article 10.3 The amendment will be presented to the next general meeting provided it was submitted at least seven (7) days before the meeting.
Article 10.4 The secretary must provide written notice of proposed amendments to all regular members at least seven (7)days prior to the meeting.
Article 10.5 At the general meeting will entertain the motion to amend the constitution.
Article 10.6 Constitutional amendments are a debatable motion.
Article 10.7 One speaker for and one speaker against will be asked to give a précis on their position. If there are no speakers against, the motion will move straight to the vote among the board.
Human Resources: -EYOED is completely staffed by volunteers. Our driving force is our collective vision. Our vision is that all members of our community, and particularly the youth, should be empowered so that they can have the self-belief and will power to fulfill their potential. Our organization association also works towards creating a forum in which and through which the eritrean community in Edmonton can voice its concerns where relevant to the appropriate bodies in our adopted country.
Volunteers carry out all the work, including the projects and programs that EYOED initiates. Both the executive committee and those who help out on project-need basis are not remunerated. Needless to say however, their commitment and drive is of the highest level and thanks to their dedication.

9.3 እቲ ኣቦ መንበር ክኣ ናይ ግዝያዊ መሰጋገሪ ኣባል ክመርጽ ኣለዎ፣
9.4 እቲ ዝለዓለ ስልጣን ዘለዎ ኣባል ተሓጋጋዚ ክኣ ነዚ ቦታ ክሕዞ ይምረጽ፣
10. ክፋል
ቅዋም ምቕያር ወይ ምዕራይ ወይ ምምሕያሽ
10.1 ዝኾነ ኣባል ማሕበር ቅዋም ንምቕያር ኦላምኡ ብጽሑፍ ናብ ዋና ጽሓፊ ከቕርብ ይኽእል እዩ
10.2 እቲ ዝቐረበ ጠለብ ምቕያር ቅዋም ብ 2/3 ድምጺ ናይ ጉባኤ ክጸድቕ ኣለዎ፣
10.3 እቲ ጠለብ ምቕያር ቅዋም ቅድሚ ሰሙን ጉባኤ ዋሃብ ኣለዎ፣
10.4 እቲ ተሕሲቡ ዘሎ ልውጢ ኽኣ ብዋና ጸሓፊ ኣቢሉ ቅድሚ ሰሙን ን ኣባልት ክንገር ኣለዎ፣
10.5 ኣብ ጉብኤ ኽኣ ነቲ ስርሒት ምቕያር ቅዋም ይስርሓሉ፣
10.6 ሓደ ዝድግፍ ሓደ ኽኣ ዝቃወም ደምጾም ምስ ኣስምዑ ናብ ምምራጽ ይሰግሩ።
